Day 3 of #BEDIJ, which is still not a thing…apart from, for me.
Today I’ve been listening to ‘The five people you meet when in Heaven’ by Mitch Albom. Cheesy and sentimental, and not really the thing you should read when your Dad is in hospital. But I’m blaming the wind for my watery eyes.
I don’t enjoy hospitals. The NHS is a wonderful institution, but flawed. The fact that there is somewhere for people to go when they are ill that doesn’t ask whether you can afford the help, just helps. Even if the help is not always the most efficient. I cannot believe that there are any other societies that consider themselves mature that don’t consider it a priority to provide healthcare for its citizens … and in fact any human being.
As I said, I don’t enjoy hospitals. NHS though FTW.
